Matthew But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

But I say to you that everyone who so much as looks at a woman with evil desire for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. But I tell you, everyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. But I say to you that every man who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery in his heart.

But I tell you that a man who even looks at a woman with the purpose of lusting after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

But I tell you that if you look at another woman and want her, you are already unfaithful in your thoughts. But I say to you that everyone looking- at a woman so-as to desire her already committed-adultery- with her in his heart. But I say to you, that whosoever shall look on a woman to lust after her, hath already committed adultery with her in his heart. But I tell you that if a man looks at a woman and wants to sin sexually with her, he has already committed that sin with her in his mind.

But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her, hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

But I can guarantee that whoever looks with lust at a woman has already committed adultery in his heart. But now I tell you: anyone who looks at a woman and wants to possess her is guilty of committing adultery with her in his heart. But I tell you, everyone who looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. But I tell you that if anyone looks at a woman with lust, he has already committed adultery with her in his mind.

But I say to you, anyone who stares at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. But I say to you that every man who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her—in his heart. But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. But I say: Anyone who even looks at a woman with lust in his eye has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Your heart can be corrupted by lust even quicker than your body. Those leering looks you think nobody notices—they also corrupt. But I say to you that whoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. But I say to you, everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart. But I tell you that if anyone looks at a woman and wants to sin sexually with her, in his mind he has already done that sin with the woman.

But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to desire her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. But here is what I tell you. Do not even look at a woman in the wrong way.

Anyone who does has already committed adultery with her in his heart. But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. But I tell you, anyone who even looks at a woman with a sinful desire of wanting her has already sinned in his heart.

But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart. But I say to you that whosoever looks on a wife, lusting after her, has committed adultery with her already in his heart. But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart. But I say to you: everyone who gazes at a woman in order to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

But I say to you that everyone looking upon a woman with taavah lust for her has already committed niuf adultery with her in his heart. But I say to you that every one who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. But I tell you that everyone who looks upon a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

You may think you have abided by this Commandment, walked the straight and narrow, but I tell you this: any man who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery in his heart. But I tell you that if a man looks at a woman and he wants her, then he has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

But I say to you, that every man that seeth a woman [for] to covet her, hath now done lechery by her in his heart [now he hath done lechery with her in his heart]. All rights reserved. Jesus (Did He Mean It? ‘Lust is Adultery’)

Even prior to actually committing the act, once the will has turned towards illicit behavior, sin has already entered the heart and, once fully conceived, will bring forth death. This interpretation is reflected in the following translations:. So the common teaching is that sexual lust is absolutely evil—equivalent, even, to the actual act of sexual sin. The first thing to understand in this passage is that Jesus is in no way intensifying the Law here, nor is he saying anything new. Ex LXX.

Personally, God brought me to a brick wall some years back with my porn addiction, and showed me that it had had to end, period. It felt like God hit me with a two-by-four, and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that He delivered me. I have not been so successful in the day-to-day comings and goings. It functions just like an addiction.

Matthew and Matthew are the twenty-seventh and twenty-eighth verses of the fifth chapter of the Gospel of Matthew in the New Testament and is part of the Sermon on the Mount. These verses begin the second antithesis : while since Matthew the discussion has been on the commandment: " You shall not murder ", it now moves to the commandment: " You shall not commit adultery ".

To get to the answer we must look at the Greek meaning of these words. In other words, the heart is used figuratively for the hidden springs of the personal life. On the other hand, Scripture regards the heart as the sphere of Divine influence, ….

Unfortunately, I believe that our understanding of what Jesus is trying to teach us is here, is blurred with old prudish and anti-sex Victorian-era view on sexuality. That is why we cannot quote any scripture out of its context without having it tinted by the glasses we are wearing at that time. So let us start by putting this specific verse, where Jesus is so clearly addressing the lustful eyes of the sexually charged male, into context and see what I believe the true message of Matthew is. Is Jesus speaking here as he usually did? If so, then the meaning of what He is trying to convey, is much deeper than just the literal interpretation of his words. Jesus largely spoke using parables without offering His interpretation to them, but leaving the listener with something to ponder over.
